Regional Installation Classes

Below is a sample of the courses we can provide to engineers, contractors and municipalities to improve storm and culvert systems design and installation.  Please contact Rex Busa at rbusa@concretepipe.org for more information or additional classes available.

1. Pipe Installation (1.5 hours)

Pipe Installation is the most critical stage of the pipeline project. Installation techniques can make or break a great plan, and a proper installation can increase the value of your infrastructure while ensuring a long design life. The ACPA has documented the installation practices of flexible and rigid culverts at city, county and state levels and use this data to illustrate proper techniques as well as examples of what not to do. Empower your designers/inspectors with the knowledge of how best to create durable culvert infrastructure while decreasing long term maintenance costs.

2. Precast Box Culvert Design/Installation (1.5 hours)

Empower your staff with product knowledge that builds design confidence and inspires creativity. This class highlights the proper technique for installing precast box culverts and increases your awareness of common practices. Provide your team the valuable skills to save money with cost effective solutions. Prepare your engineers to explore competitive options or evaluate value engineering prospects.

3. Jacking Pipe (1 hour)

A growing segment of pipe installation involves trenchless applications. Trenchless construction techniques are less disruptive to traffic, community/emergency services, utilities and businesses. Trenchless installation saves time, saves money and improves roadway safety for both the public and construction workers. It is important to understand this competitive option. As our nation’s infrastructure approaches the end of its service life, the jacking pipe procedure is a beneficial option for pipe replacement.

4. Post Installation Inspection (1.5 hours)

It’s in the owner’s best interest to know that all pipes in their system have been properly installed and were not structurally compromised during construction. Post Installation Inspection (PII) provides the owner the information needed to verify that proper installation techniques were used prior to project close-out and final acceptance.

5. Accelerated Precast Construction (APC) (1 hour)

What impact does your community experience when a roadway or bridge undergoes improvements? How does it affect the mobility of commuters? Does it present a safety risk to the construction workers and commuters? APC targets these tough issues and helps you incorporate innovative planning, design, materials and construction methods to reduce construction time and costs. The American Concrete Pipe Association (ACPA) recognizes the importance of innovation. APC, a trademark of ACPA members, targets project delivery time, product quality, durability, safety and economics.
